Replacement Vertical Blind Headrail End Set

Repair a compatible vertical-blind headrail without replacing the complete track.

This replacement end set includes the control-end mechanism, idle-end component, white beaded control chain and 2mm nylon operating cord required to repair a compatible standard vertical-blind headrail.

The beaded chain rotates the slats, while the nylon operating cord draws the blind open and closed.

The aluminium headrail, carrier trucks, brackets and slats shown in the demonstration photograph are not included.

Choose the correct draw side

This end set is available in two configurations:

• Left-Side Draw

• Right-Side Draw

The draw side describes the side to which the slats travel and stack when the blind is opened.

Choose the option that matches your existing vertical-blind setup. Do not select the side based only on where the chain and cord hang.

Please use our labelled left- and right-draw images to identify the correct version before ordering.

What each control operates

Beaded control chain

The white beaded chain rotates the vertical-blind slats between the open and closed positions.

Nylon operating cord

The 2mm nylon cord draws the carrier trucks and slats across the headrail to open or close the blind.

These controls perform different functions and must be correctly routed during installation.

Check compatibility carefully

Vertical-blind headrail systems are not universal.

This set is intended for the compatible standard headrail profile shown in our photographs. Before ordering:

1. Remove or inspect your existing headrail end components.

2. Compare their shape with all product photographs.

3. Measure the width and height of the aluminium headrail.

4. Compare the locating tabs, gear housing and fixing points.

5. Confirm whether you require left-side or right-side draw.

6. Check the required chain and cord lengths.

A similar-looking end set might not fit a headrail produced by another manufacturer.

• A photograph of the existing control end

• A photograph of the existing idle end

• The headrail’s width and height

• Confirmation of the required draw side

Fitting information

Replacing a headrail end set requires the vertical-blind track to be removed and partially dismantled.

Before removing the existing parts:

1. Photograph the route of the chain and cord.

2. Note the order and orientation of all internal components.

3. Record how the operating cord connects to the carrier train.

4. Install the replacement components in the same orientation.

5. Test the chain and cord slowly before reinstalling the slats.

Incorrect cord routing can prevent the blind from traversing correctly. If you are unfamiliar with vertical-blind repairs, assistance from an experienced blind fitter may be required.

Child-safety information

Blind chains and cords can form hazardous loops and must be kept securely restrained and out of the reach of children.

Fit appropriate child-safety devices to both controls and follow the blind manufacturer’s safety and installation instructions.
