How to measure for vertical blinds
Use a metal tape measure. Write down width first, then drop, and measure every window separately.
Inside the recess
- Measure the opening across the top, middle and bottom. Keep the smallest width.
- Measure down the left, centre and right. Keep the smallest drop.
- Choose Recess and enter those measurements without subtracting anything.
Fitting allowance
For recess orders, we deduct 10mm from the width and 10mm from the drop.
Outside the recess / exact size
- Choose where the two outer edges of the blind should finish, then measure between them.
- Measure from the intended top of the blind to its bottom edge.
- Choose Exact and enter the overall finished size.

Get measuring helpLeave room at the side for the slats when open. Allow around 120mm on the opening side; check the space needed for your chosen size.
