Choose the correct length
The options show the total cut length of chain supplied, not the finished top-to-bottom loop drop.
To calculate the required chain length, measure your desired loop drop and multiply it by two.
For example:
-
A 50cm loop drop requires approximately 1 metre of chain.
-
A 75cm loop drop requires approximately 1.5 metres of chain.
-
A 100cm loop drop requires approximately 2 metres of chain.
Allow a small additional amount if you plan to trim and adjust the chain while fitting it.
Check compatibility carefully
Blind mechanisms use different chain sizes. This product is No.6 chain and is intended for compatible vertical-blind control mechanisms.
Before ordering:
-
Compare the bead size with your existing chain.
-
Compare the distance between the beads.
-
Check that the mechanism is designed for No.6 chain.
-
Compare your chain with the measurements in our product photographs.
This chain is different from the larger No.10 metal chain commonly used with roller and Roman blind mechanisms.
Do not order based on colour or appearance alone. No.6 and No.10 chains can look similar in photographs but are not interchangeable.
If you are uncertain, send us a clear photograph of your existing chain beside a ruler before ordering.
How to fit
-
Access the control mechanism at the end of the vertical-blind headrail.
-
Carefully remove the existing operating chain.
-
Feed the new chain through the control mechanism.
-
Check that the chain is seated correctly and is not twisted.
-
Join the two ends using the supplied connector.
-
Test the blind slowly in both directions.
-
Secure the completed loop with an appropriate child-safety tensioning device.
Fitting methods vary between headrail systems. Follow the original blind manufacturer’s instructions where available.
Child-safety information
Looped blind chains must be securely restrained and kept out of the reach of children.
Fit an appropriate chain-tensioning safety device and follow the blind manufacturer’s safety instructions. If the existing device is missing or damaged, add a replacement Blind Cord & Chain Safety P Clip to your order.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood
Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
