Custom length
The metal chain is manufactured as a continuous loop with no separate connector.
How to measure the chain loop drop
Loop drop is the measurement from the top of the chain loop to the bottom when the loop is pulled straight.
It is not the total length around the loop. For example, a 100cm loop drop uses approximately 200cm of chain.
If ordering a custom metal chain, enter the required finished top-to-bottom loop drop in centimeters.
Please measure carefully. Custom-made continuous metal chain cannot be altered after it has been manufactured.
Check your roller tube
This kit is designed for a compatible 40mm roller-blind tube.
To check your tube:
-
Remove the blind from its brackets.
-
Carefully remove the existing mechanism.
-
Measure directly across the outside of the metal tube.
-
Confirm that the outside diameter is approximately 40mm.
-
Compare the internal tube profile with the mechanism shown in our photographs.
Do not measure around the circumference of the tube.
Tube profiles can vary between manufacturers. A 40mm outside diameter does not always guarantee that the mechanism will fit.
If you are uncertain, contact us before ordering and include:
-
A photograph of the end of the roller tube
-
A photograph of the existing mechanism
-
The tube’s outside diameter
Installation
Insert the control mechanism into one end of the roller tube and the idle-end pin into the opposite end. Secure the brackets to a suitable surface, then install the assembled blind into the brackets.
The control can normally be fitted on either the left or right side of the blind.
Always make sure the brackets and safety device are securely installed.
Child-safety information
Looped blind chains must be securely restrained and kept out of the reach of children.
An appropriate chain-tensioning safety device must be fitted. Always follow the blind manufacturer’s fitting and safety instructions.
If your existing safety device is missing or damaged, add a replacement Blind Cord & Chain Safety P Clip to your order.
